APP_DEVPHP is the International Standard Musical Work Code (ISWC) for this musical composition. ISWCs are ISO 15707 identifiers managed by CISAC; they identify the underlying song — its melody, lyrics, and arrangement — rather than any single recording. One composition can have many recordings (ISRCs).
ISWC APP_DEVPHP identifies a musical composition. ISWCs are defined by ISO 15707 and managed by CISAC to uniquely identify the underlying song — the melody, lyrics, and arrangement.
How is an ISWC different from an ISRC?+
An ISWC identifies a musical work (the underlying composition — melody, lyrics, arrangement). An ISRC identifies a specific sound recording of that work. One ISWC can have many ISRCs — for example, the original recording, a remix, a live version, and a cover would each have their own ISRC but share the same ISWC.
